The better part of 2011 so far has seen Sydney 4-piece GO/NO-GO writing and recording their highly anticipated sophomore album. The release is due out this Summer, but there’s plenty of action to keep fans sated before then! The first single from the yet-to-be-titled album #2 is Phase Out, and will be released on 13th August as a free download at http://gonogo.bandcamp.com. The single launch will be held on the same day at the Lansdowne Hotel.
There have also been a few changes in between albums for GO/NO-GO. Drummer Nicholai Danko has moved on, being replaced by Steve Allison who stepped up from keyboard & percussion duties to be the headman on the drum kit. This has changed the band’s sound slightly, with a new dynamic being introduced.
The writing and tracking on album #2 is complete, and GO/NO-GO are now in the process of mixing and fine tuning it. Fans can check out the new sound and tracks at the Lansdowne Hotel on 13 August for the Phase Out single launch – the band’s first gig in almost 6 months. We promise you, it’ll be a special night.
Supports on the night will be Michel Michel, Death Mattel and Bayonet for Legs. Entry is is zip-zero-zilch. You heard right – it’s free. So put the date in your diaries now
GO/NO-GO, who formed in late 2008, was a gathering of musical minds who – as individuals – have variously played with Sarah Blasko, The Devoted Few, The Cops, Spod and 78 SAAB, among others. It’s a few years later and the sound has evolved, but it’s still as fresh as the first time you heard it.
See you at the gig.
Steve Claxton - vocals, guitar, keys
Dan Arena - guitar, keys
Tarek Darwish - bass
