With very few exceptions (Max Richter being one of them), Hans Zimmer is history’s best example of how music can build blockbusters in the minds of listeners. His potent, cinematic way of composing has been harnessed by the world’s greatest directors, gluing Zimmer’s work to unforgettable scenes, palpable emotions, and staggering visuals.
And so it’s a rare treat to write that Hans Zimmer is heading on down to Australia for the first time in many years, embarking on an arena tour that’ll touch some of this country’s greatest venues with stops down the East Coast in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
Presented by Frontier Touring, the award-winning composer will bring his latest Hans Zimmer Live experience at the tail-end of April, starting first in Brisbane with one show, and then gifting both Sydney and Melbourne two chances to see the wordless wizard live.
As someone who wrote about his tour in 2017, I can confidently attest to the unmatched immersion he brings to the stage, recreating scenes without actually showing us them and teasing out the awe we felt at blockbusters like Interstellar and Gladiator.
The multi-award winning film composer should be bringing even more height and dimension to the stage as he arrives in his post-Dune era, with scores that have teased out sides of the masterful musician that we’ve never heard before.
