The Melbourne Museum’s Nocturnal program is a favourite of many punters in the city; an opportunity to see some of the best mixing it up amongst the exhibitions. As part of the MEL&NYC event that has seen the likes of Ilana Glazer, Ronan Farrow and Regina Spektor chart visits to Melbourne, Nocturnal is throwing a party of their own.
Welcoming their first ever international headliner to the series, The Rakeim Walker Project will perform in Australia for the first time, direct from Harlem. Joining the group on the line up will be R&B outfit Tatafu, Kalala, MzRizk, 1/6, Glitter & Snatch, and ‘Round Midnights.
In the Te Vainui O Pasifika gallery, The Cook Island Drummers will be doing their thing, while DRMNGNOW will be bringing his powerful sounds through to the Kalaya and Birrarung galleries. Idil Ali, Hawiine and Lay the Mystic will perform spoken word in the Wild Gallery, while attendees can check out the work of Harlem photographer Camilo Vergera throughout the Museum space.
A Nocturnal event unlike any other, this one is going to be something else. Running from 6pm – 11pm on August 3rd, tickets are on sale now via their official website here.
