English synth-pop act Hot Chip are set to perform an exclusive live-streamed set from Dreamland Margate, one of the UK’s most adored amusement parks.
The event will be streamed in Australia on Sunday, 6th September, kicking off at 8pm AEST.
The band, whose hits include Ready for the Floor, Hungry Child and I Feel Better, will perform with the maximalist production of a full festival set. Featuring elaborate stage production and high-end streaming technology, event promoters TIX and Percolate Live have declared that it will set a new benchmark for livestreams.
“We know it’s been a difficult year and you are starved of the sweet vibrations of live music” the band said in a statement. “After all the cancellations, it’s really important that we perform live and direct to you – the fans.”
Consisting of three broadcasts taking place at different times for different time zones, the event has been dubbed a “virtual 24 hour world tour”. To generate an authentic atmosphere, a small, socially-distanced audience will be invited to attend the performance. Known for their energetic live performances, the band will without doubt feed off the audience’s engagement.
The award-winning group toured Australia earlier in the year, concluding their visit with a captivating headline slot at Golden Plains in March.
This will be the final opportunity to get a taste of Hot Chip live in 2020, with the band confirming that the livestream will not be rebroadcast.
