Following on from this morning’s announcement that London Grammar would be joining Childish Gambino on this year’s Falls Festival tour, the festival organisers have continued to make our Tuesday by following through with a stack of international and local names set to hit festival sites in Lorne, Byron and Marion Bay and of course for its first year, Fremantle, over New Year’s.
While Gambino and London Grammar are going to be festival exclusives, we can be expecting some tasty east coast dates out of the rest of these guys for sure. Joining them on the line up are some Aussie heavyweights including Violent Soho and the recently returned Avalanches, while Alison Wonderland, Matt Corby, The Jezebels and Tkay Maidza all make their summer festival return. On the international front, Broods, Grouplove, Jamie T and Fat Freddy’s Drop have all been confirmed to make their Australian return. We’re also particularly excited to see Ry X on home turf for the first time in a long time with his acclaimed Dawn album, not to mention Tired Lion and Shura, two of our favourites to have been owning 2016 in their own way so far.
Along with the music of course, Falls is offering its punters more to get involved in over the course of each event, with markets, visual arts performances, creative installations, shuttles to the beach and more on offer. They’re also offering you a chance to secure a VIP pass for yourself and three friends simply by downloading the app and getting involved in #fallskaraoke – literally all you need to do is choose a song, record your best rendition of it on Instagram, tag Falls and your three mates, add the above hashtag and boom. You’re in!
