Magnolia Park announce concept album VAMP

Orlando five piece Magnolia Park have just announced a new album, scheduled for release on April 11th. Here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming VAMP!

The release will come to us through Epitah Records, and has been described as a neo-gothic concept album. VAMP is all about world-building and story-telling, with the band drawing inspiration from the likes of Vampire Hunter D, Star Wars, Dracula, and Joseph Campbell’s monomyth, The Hero’s Journey, for the album’s storyline. This is a tale of rulers and rebels, of epic battles against oppressors, and of a future hanging in the balance.

VAMP also promises a sonic shift for Magnolia Park, with their trademark pop-punk anthems given a heavier makeover. Expect nu-metal twists, big screams, and a sound that wouldn’t be out of place on an early 2000s WWE pay-per-view. We got a taste of it with last year’s “SHALLOW”, and new release “CULT” is promising more of the same, with the band saying:

““CULT” is a song about gaining back your power from an oppressor, made to inspire people to stick up for what is right and not let themselves be taken advantage of. This reflects in our story where Aurora and the Vampires have to stand up to a towering oppressive group called the ‘Shadow Cult’.”

Internally produced by the band’s own producers alongside Andrew Wade (A Day To Remember, Wage War), Hiram Hernandez (blessthefall, Real Friends) and Andy Karpovck (408, Taylor Acorn) and mixed by Zakk Cervini (Bad Omens, Bring Me The Horizon), VAMP‘s 11 tracks look set to offer fans old and new something heavier and more complex than anything we’ve seen from Magnolia Park so far – and we can’t wait!
