Missy Higgins has been spending 2015 adjusting to life as a parent, having given birth to son Samuel back in January, following a successful national Australian tour in late 2014. During her time off the road though, she says she’s been writing new music while being Mum and it’s material she’s looking forward to sharing with fans when she returns to stages in Victoria, Tasmania and NSW in early 2016.
The shows will have Missy performing both as part of the Twilight at Taronga, Peninsula Picnic and Riverboats Festival events, as well as two special headline shows in Melbourne and Tassie in February and March.
“For the whole of this year I’ve been experiencing life as a first time Mum, and it’s been incredible, but I really can’t wait to get out of the house and play a few gigs. I’ve actually been writing a lot of songs lately so I’m looking forward to trying a few of them out at these gigs, along with all the others of course.”
Supporting Missy at all shows except the Riverboats Festival and the Peninsula Picnic will be Paul Dempsey, who has recently returned from Chicago, where he’s recorded his long-awaited second solo record.
