The emergence of young songwriter Alice Skye over the last year has been incredibly impressive and with her tour with Emily Wurramara set to be announced for mid-2018, more crowds around the country are going to be seeing what so many of us have known of Alice for a while now – hers is a talent that is absolutely thriving.
Her latest single, “Friends With Feelings”, recently saw a music video release, reflective of the deeply personal nature of the song itself. Working with Eye Sea Films and Triana Hernandez on directing duties, “Friends With Feelings” reveals an intimate side of Alice’s songwriting.
“The title track was written after being told by someone to think of my emotions as colours.” she has explained. “I’m deeply preoccupied with identity, it’s something that gives me stability – understanding my culture and who I am. This whole album for me is a reminder of where I was, where I’ve been and where I’m still going.”
