His debut album, The Great Divorce, was released to the positive response many of us expected but of course, Ben Wright Smith isn’t content in resting on his laurels. He’s pushed on through and continued to have the momentum rolling, this week presenting us with a new music video for “Hellion Heeled”.
The indie pop number sees Ben take inspiration from the iconic “Subterranean Homesick Blues” music video by Bob Dylan, putting his own twist on the black-and-white placard theme. Shot out in Melbourne, the clip wasn’t without its challenges.
“You’re not really supposed to film near the docks,” Ben has said. “…They threatened to call the cops a few times. We managed to get it done. We were going for a bit of a Bob Dylan “Subterranean Homesick Blues” homage for this one. I had no idea how hard flicking all those cards would be though.”
Check the music video out below and catch Ben on tour through until mid year!
