Music Video of the Day: Gallant ft. Jhene Aiko “Skipping Stones” (2016)

One of our favourite songs of this year now has a film clip, yes. Gallant and Jhene Aiko‘s gorgeous “Skipping Stones”, produced by Adrian Younge and Stint for Red Bull Sound Select, sees the former locked up in the boot of a car by Aiko in this slick music video directed by American Millennial.

Switching between the perspectives of both vocalists, the clip is subtle but captures the fiery ~literally~ emotional content of the song’s lyrics. Released back in February, “Skipping Stones” has become a hit and features on Gallant’s debut album Ology; Australian fans will be able to see what all the fuss has been about when Gallant tours here for the first time next year, as part of the 2017 Bluesfest Byron Bay festival.
