Vinay Matta has been producing and working on some cool electronic music out in LA as Hansaa for a few years now, but he’s still relatively unknown to a widespread Australian audience. Until now, anyway. His debut single has seen Hansaa link up with Oliver Tank and production duo soso for “Need To Know” – a tune soaked in the type of evocative intensity that James Blake and others like him have been well associated with.
The music video, directed by Julien Pircher, is alluring and hazy, shrouding the lyrical narrative in darkness and matching the intensity of the music with great flair.
“The music video is a story of regret.” Hansaa has said. “The subject behind it is rather serious and deep. It draws off Oliver’s lyric in the track: ‘If I put up shots they’ll fall down…’”
