Hands up whose hearts did a little backflip when Holly Throsby announced a new album was in the works? Hands firmly up, we’re stoked to have seen one of our favourite Sydney musicians return with new music (not like she hasn’t been busy writing novels and being a general boss, or anything…) and in her new music video for “Aeroplane”, we’re met with a stunning offering.
Taken from the new album After A Time – out this Friday – “Aeroplane” is a gorgeous song that delves into the concept of the ‘geographical cure’. As Throsby explains, “Aeroplane” is a song about restlessness, while the music video is like a home movie accompaniment.
Teaming up with collaborator Yanni Kronenburg, the “Aeroplane” music video channels the vintage effects of super eight and those old home movies that could be gathering dust at your parents’ place right now.
