The new music video for I Know Lepoard’s “Rather Be Lonely” is a swift hop, skip and a jump over the line separating beauty and morbidity.
The footage used for this music video was originally filmed by LA director Wyatt Winborne, who was looking for the right outlet for the then silent film and just so happened to come across “Rather Be Lonely”. He knew immediately this was a perfect match.
We follow a seemingly delusional yet heartbroken protagonist as she struggles to continue a relationship with her dead partner. With careful hands and an optimistic heart waiting patiently for some sign of response, she and the corpse carry on their beautifully tragic escapades until the realisation is had that she’d indeed, rather be lonely. Because nonreciprocal relationships suck, am I right?
