What a wonderfully dark track Jess Ribiero has brought us with her new single “Kill It Yourself”. The song comes off the new Remote Control Records signee’s debut record, which she produced with Mick Harvey, due out in August. The song itself – accompanied by a stunning video, is about the disconnection from where our food comes from. On the track, Jess says, “I had a dream I killed a chicken and had to prepare it. It felt tribal. When I woke up I asked my Grandma how she did it in the old days. She hated doing it.” You can watch the track – our music video of the day – here:
The debut album from Jess Ribiero with Mick Harvey will be released in August 2015, out through Barely Dressed Records / Remote Control. Don’t miss Jess as she performs live at Old Bar in Fitzroy every Sunday in July. Follow Jess on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Jess-Ribeiro/104200473179
