Music Video of the Day: Mid Ayr “Vampires” (2016)

You’ll be able to see Mid Ayr out on the road soon as they tour with Olympia and hit the stage at a few festivals on the east coast but in the meantime, we need to talk about the band’s new music video. The visuals for the trio’s latest single “Vampires” has seen Mid Ayr get together with some of NIDA‘s best students in creating it, directed by Madeleine Humphreys.

Following a lone figure as he navigates his way through an environment crumbling around him, the music video captures the loneliness and isolation felt on the song itself. Production Designer Charlotte Mungomery constructed the set during a week-long period prior to the shoot and as for the final result, the band have sung the team’s praises.

“When they sent us the final cut,” Hugh Middleton has said. “I was completely taken back by it. It’s incredible to watch something so simple as a concept for a song evolve into something so powerful.”

Definitely evocative in its simplicity, “Vampires” is one deserving of its props. Check it out!
