If you’ve listened to Divas and Demons from front to back at least once since its release, “Lose Sleep” is definitely one of the standout tracks. For Remi and Jordan Rakei, the collaboration saw both artists delve into the reflective and the end result? A soulful and poignant single that speaks to those who have felt like they’re flailing or drifting helplessly in an ocean of blandness or, if we’re talking about today’s social and political climate, ignorance.
The music video for “Lose Sleep” was unleashed recently, showing both Rem and Jordan taking to the darkly lit streets of Melbourne and London respectively, letting the music and lyrics project from themselves.
“Often you can feel like one crazy beige kids in a sea of ignorance shouting about equality,” Remi has said of the track. “…The most beautiful thing about a lot of musicians I know is how the social climate affects them. Jordan Rakei is one of those musicians. Even though we were literally continents apart when he worked on this joint, with very little background on the song, Jordan was able to match the tone and message immediately.”
