Music Video of the Day: Young Fathers “Lord” (2017)

Young Fathers are easily one of the most intense bands you’re likely to see, should you ever have the luck of coming across them in a live setting. Remember their 2015 album White Men Are Black Men Too? Amazing, but hectic.

Fast forward to this week, and the band have unleashed a new slice of music in “Lord”. The music video has also been released, and it’s as dramatic as you may expect. In the best way. Directed by Rianne White, the “Lord” music video swirls in its darkness and emotion. Says band member Alloysious Massaquoi, “For me, the video stemmed from…like how do you describe an emotion, clearly and precisely, when you’re completely immersed in it all? An act of internal withdrawal from the outside world, when all you need from the outside world is for someone, anyone, to show they care.”
