Melbourne’s Dear Plastic have inched another step forward in preparing for the release of their anticipated sophomore EP Heaven Machine, with the release of the music video for their single “Zero” – premiering today with the AU!
For those who have been following the quintet’s antics since their debut album Thieves Are Babes dropped back in 2014, “Zero” (and by extension, Heaven Machine) is a culmination of what’s become a natural musical progression for the band. While their style has been described as avant-pop or even more boldly, ‘apocalyptic trip-hop’, “Zero” indicates that the band has really strengthened as both musicians and songwriters.
From the beats and the dark synths of “Zero”, right through that canny production value that shines from the outset, this slice of classically Melbourne eccentricity is one we’re keen to hear more of. The music video aligns with the ideal perfectly, too.
