Immersive live music event, New Found Sound, returns to 10 unique venues across Port Adelaide on Saturday 18th January. The best thing is that you can see any of the 30+ emerging South Australian bands for free. It’s one night only, so if you heard about it last time and wished you’d joined in on the fun, here’s your chance for 2025. Roll down from 6pm and check out the range of restaurants, pubs and eateries on offer in this thriving revitalised district.
One of the more interesting venues is the historic SA Maritime Museum, home to the iconic Clipper Ship. There will be an immersive experience inside the ship, the City of Adelaide, the world’s oldest surviving clipper ship. Experimental electronic artist Blood Circle will be creating a genre-bending mix of sound and light, with influences from Siouxsie and the Banshees, Depeche Mode and Aphex Twin.
Also in the museum, three established artists: Pascoe/Martin, San Ureshi, and David Kotlowy will be performing on the historic Ketch. In addition, the entire museum will be open to the public all night, giving visitors a chance to see some South Australian maritime history.
Over at Vitalstatistix, high energy band Mondo Psycho, headed up by powerhouse Carla Lippis will be firing up the evening. Supporting earlier will be punk rock acts Pest Control and Georgia Oatley.
For more of a groove style, Port Adelaide’s very own dimly lit Americana-inspired bar, 10 Gallon Hat will be presenting Slug Groove, with other performances by SILK and Tell Mama. This is sure to be a one of a kind show.
Genre-blending band TONIX will be closing off the Pirate Life Brewery stage. Fresh off supporting Cold Chisel at the VAILO Adelaide 500, their infectious energy is sure to leave you wanting more. They will be joined by the whimsical My Cherie and upbeat pop band Pash.
Another interesting venue will be the popup Iparrityi Laneway curated by Carclew. There will be plenty of emerging talent to discover over the evening, including Pearly Stars, Cringetrender, Awnings, The Strangers, Zara Chantelle, and Emerauld.
This is just a small sample of what’s on offer, with plenty more happening across Port Adelaide. There really is something for everyone!
The free live music programming will kick off at 6:00 pm and run until late throughout the precinct.
