This week we’ve added another ten tracks to our Discovery playlist on Spotify and Apple Music. Our track of the week belongs to UK neo-soul, pop artist and rising star Eloise, with “Therapist”. if you’ve got a partner who needs to take their attitude elsewhere, then this is for you. With lyrics such as “you’re acting like a boy but I fell for a man.”, she knows how to skewer. Her debut album Drunk On A Flight will be released on the 14th April.
“April’s Child” is the latest single from Melbourne indie five piece Great ~ Falls. The track, which is from their forthcoming debut EP Negatives Into Positives, has been described by the band as “an ode to female freedom” and is inspired by margarita nights with friends. With strong vocals, clever lyricism and a cracking sound, there’s a lot to look forward to with this band.
UK indie darlings Everything But The Girl continue to delight in their re-emergence, as they prepare to release their first record since re-uniting. “Run A Red Light” is taken from their forthcoming album, Fuse, out on the 21st April. It’s a beautifully delicate track and would be at home being the theme tune for a Scandi thriller.
“Dead Weekend” is the brooding swagger of a new single from Gold Coast rockers Chavez Cartel. It’s moody, melodic, a bit of a slow burner, and at over six minutes it’s a bit of an epic. But it’s worth it. Trust us. The band, fresh from supporting The Reytons, will be heading to the UK in May for The Great Escape. But before then, Queensland fans can catch them at Jimna Rocks on April 29th.
We have been fans of alt-rockers OK Hotel since their early days, and they have continued to impress. Their new single “Get Out” is a high-energy punchy track, with an infectious chorus. They are heading out on tour in April. Head to their website for more details.
“Blue Eyed Boy” is the new single from Trophy Eyes. This fresh taste from the Newcastle punks blends their signature poignancy with a modern pop-rock flair. It’s another fun track that you can either dance to with friends or ruminate over alone.
To round out the updates, there are two new premieres, from Sitting Down and This Space it Ours.
