Beliying her youthful 19 years, singer Emerauld has released a powerful single “In the First Place”. With soaring vocals and a driving backing track, this could be a summer anthem. The Adelaide singer has been releasing music since the age of 14, capturing a spot in Unearthed High Yearbook in 2022 with her track “In the Silence.”
Packing in the accolades, she won a golden ticket to Sydney with her 2023 audition in Australian Idol. She’s been the face of IndieFest24 as well as appearances in New Found Sound Festival in Semaphore earlier this year, played at The Gov, WOMAD 2024 and much more.
Although starting out as a solo artist, she now fronts the band Emerauld. Her passion shines through, with an electrifying sound that hooks you straight in. “In the Silence” is a powerful ballad about life’s uncertainties and doubts.
“This song is like my inner battle brought to life,” shares Emerauld. “It dives into my self-doubt and frustration and the chorus reminds me that I don’t owe anyone anything, but also reflects the exhaustion of having nothing left to give”.
To balance the heavy rock-laden song, Emerauld has also released a stripped-back version of “In the First Place.” With an acoustic guitar to give the melody, her voice shines and gives the story even more depth and character. Incredibly, both versions of the song work equally well. This sits well besides artists such as Billie Eilish and Alex Lahey.
Emerauld is an artist that has an incredible future ahead. Check her out and be the one that listened to her before she became popular.
