If you’re having a stressful or gloomy morning, then listening to the latest single from Morning Blue, an Illawarra quartet, will have you back in your groove. The song “BLUE” combines soul, jazz and prog influences to create a sonic landscape that is refreshing and uplifting.
The quartet started out as a demo on the keyboardist, Malachi’s computer. The track was then workshopped by the whole band, creating a sonic tapestry. Vocalist Lucy adds a classic soul voice to the track and the song harks to jazz club days. Lucy explains the track herself;
“BLUE” is a lyrical exploration into the intricate dance of modern relationships. We wanted to peel back the layers and delve into the nuances inherent in connecting with someone in today’s world. The song is a canvas that captures the desires, the noise, and the complexities woven into the fabric of the current dating landscape.”
The band also likens the creation of the song as spreading jigsaw pieces on the floor before making the complete puzzle.
