Pope Innocent X, the fourth album by singer/songwriter Bertie Blackman, is the long-awaited follow-up to 2009’s acclaimed Secrets and Lies – a record which took out the 2009 ARIA for Best Independent Release, and the AIR Award for Breakthrough Independent Artist. The new record will be released on October 12th. The first music video for the record, which you can view below, is called “Mercy Killer”. The video was directed by Chino Moya, Director and produced by Beth Montague for HSI London.
The date has been moved as Bertie has not had the opportunity to have the album set up as planned. She says it best:
“My deepest apologies to everyone who was coming to my 2 preview shows, The Standard on Friday 13th of July, & The Corner on Tuesday 17th of July, Tonsillitis has got its grip on me… so I’m resting up for Splendour In The Grass. We will be announcing rescheduled shows soon! At this time, refunds will be issued to all purchasers. I really want to share these songs with you live before we put the record out so for those of you who have pre-ordered my new album please be aware that we have shifted it a wee bit back to October 2012.”
