Wow. That’s about all I can say after listening to the rock and roll wonderment that Sydney group Regular John have produced in “Slume”. The track has single handedly reminded my why rock and roll can be so fucking cool. Hands up if you’re excited for their long awaited sophomore record, Strange Flowers, due out September 14 through Difrnt Music/MGM?
If this first single is any indication, we’re in for a cracker of an album. The simplistic video sits in front of an impressively complex song, with standout production and some particularily great drumming… it heralds back to the best works of bands like Mudhoney and The Smashing Pumpkins, while remaining completely their own… but I best let the song speak for itself.
