Tenacious D return to Australia for the first time in a decade

“Let’s f**king get it on!”

The rock-pig duo of Jack Black and ‘KG’ Kyle Gass are finally returning to Australia for their first tour of the country since 2013.

The ‘Spicy Meatball Tour’ will  arrive in five Australian cities in July, before stepping over to New Zealand. They would also be in the country around the time of Splendour in the Grass, but they would be a shock addition to the line-up!

It’s been 22 years since the pair forgot the greatest and best song and wrote “Tribute” instead. Since then, they’ve recorded four album, starred in “The Pick of Destiny” in 2006 and popped up in various places. Jack Black jumped on stage with Foo Fighters in New Zealand for a huge cover of AC/DC’s “Big Balls” during their January show. He is also currently filming a ‘Minecraft’ movie there, which seems to coincide nicely with this tour.

Tenacious D have released two new tracks in the last year, plus a cover of Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game”, but it’s not known if a new album will be released before the tour.

The ‘D’ will play Sydney on the 13th and 14th of July, Newcastle on the 16th of July, Brisbane on the 18th of July, Melbourne on the 20th of July and Adelaide on the 22nd of July before heading to New Zealand. Details and tickets via: frontiertouring.com/tenaciousd
