Two very special guests have been announced to join Oh Mercy at their last headline shows of 2011. The Sydney show happening at the Oxford Art Factory on October 14 will see Oh Mercy joined by Brous, while in Melbourne at The Hi-Fi on November 25, Owl Eyes will grace the stage.
Having taken acts such as Washington, Gossling, Kimbra, Jessica Says and Felicity Groom on the road, it is safe to say Oh Mercy are continuing their tradition of hand-picking incredible support artists. This time, Oh Mercy will be joined by two acts who recently impressed the masses at Brisbane’s Big Sound music conference.
Brous (pron. Bruce) is the daring new musical venture by Sophia Brous, inspired by the lush soundtracks of 50’s noir and exotica, underground Europop, psych, lounge and other worldly hyper-nostalgia. The Brous self-titled EP featuring the single ‘Streamers’ is out now.
A young Owl Eyes performed with Oh Mercy on the sold out Keith St tour in 2010, since then we’ve watched her blossom from the peripheral to high rotation with her ‘Raiders’ single and own headline shows.
Oh Mercy recently played Splendour In The Grass and shows alongside The Vaccines, before heading to the US. They are looking forward to returning to Australia to share their new songs and play audience favourites like ‘Stay, Please Stay’, ‘Keith St’, ‘Get You Back’, ‘Confessions’, ‘Lay Everything On Me’, ‘Let Me Go’… the list goes on.
This tour will also celebrate the Great Barrier Grief album being released on 180g vinyl with its own digital download code. Available now on pre-order with free postage: ohmercy.bigcartel.com
