Australian metal titans Parkway Drive are celebrating twenty years this year, and they’re bringing the party back home with their first Aussie headline tour in over six years. Joining them will be Michigan rockers and two-time Grammy nominees I Prevail, Californian metalcore group The Ghost Inside and Melbourne’s very own Void of Vision.
With seven studio albums under their belt, six of which have been certified gold, the group is eager to play their biggest headline tour to date. Sharing a heartfelt teaser on Instagram, lead vocalist Winston McCall can be heard saying, “Australia, it’s been a while… we’ve been a band for twenty years now. We’ve been through a lot, but we haven’t forgotten about home.”
Their latest studio album, 2022’s Darker Still, received rave reviews, with the title track being the standout for critics and fans. While they’ve played a few songs from the album live at previous shows, this will be their first headlining tour since the album’s release, so perhaps (and hopefully) we’ll be hearing even more never-before-played gems.
The tour will start in Brisbane, at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, before journeying through Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and coming to an end in Perth. With an absolutely stacked lineup, it’s sure to be a stellar show full of great music and good times as the band and fans reflect on the success of the past twenty years.
