Paul Kelly enlists Gang of Youths, Meg Mac & Gretta Ray for a gravy making session in Melbourne

Paul Kelly‘s “How to Make Gravy” is a bonafide Australian classic. The unlikely Christmas Classic has been a staple of many a fan’s music collection since 1996, with December 21st lovingly referred to as “Gravy Day” amongst Kelly fans.

What better way to celebrate it this year than with a rich, tasty musical event in Melbourne? Ushering in the Christmas season this year, Paul Kelly will perform at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl alongside special guests in Gang of YouthsMeg Mac and Gretta Ray.

“Gravy’s been around a long, long time. Maybe humans came up with it even before they came up with beer and wine.” Kelly has said. “I don’t know. But I do know Raymond Carver wrote a poem about it. And I like to make it. And it’s different all over the world. So, we’d like to usher in Christmas and all things grave and gravilicious with a rich, musical stew.”

Tickets are on sale for Making Gravy from November 1st, while Frontier Members can get in on a pre-sale from October 30th here.
