Paul Weller returns to Australia for an exclusive three night performance at the renewed Sydney Opera House Concert Hall in February 2024.
The iconic leader of British Mod band The Jam, blue eyed soul outfit Style Council and then turning solo will perform all his classics from nearly 50 years of exploring different rock and roll styles.
In a career that spans the formation of The Jam in 1976 through to his 16th and most recent solo album, 2021’s Fat Pop, Weller has notched up 57 top 40 UK singles, four of them number ones, 26 top 40 albums, four prestigious BRIT awards, plus the Ivor Novello Lifetime Achievement award, plus many more.
With albums like In the City (1977), All Mod Cons (1978) and Sound Affects (1980), The Jam helped define both the UK mod revival and punk scenes, and delivered anthems – “A Town Called Malice”, “The Eton Rifles”, “That’s Entertainment” – that endure to this day.
The ’80s saw Weller lean into the blue-eyed soul of The Style Council, and its irresistible jams “Shout to the Top” and “You’re the Best Thing”, before launching a solo career in the 90s that yielded a string of favourites like “You Do Something to Me” and “Wild Wood”.
This is a concert not to be missed at the iconic Sydney Opera House.
