Photo Gallery and Live Review: Take 40 Stars of Summer Party ft. Sneaky Sound System and Havana Brown – Point Piper (26.11.11)

On Saturday afternoon we had the pleasure of joining the “beautiful people” for the second annual Take 40 Stars of Summer party, presented by the new Toyota Yaris. Featuring high energy performances from Sneaky Sound System and Havana Brown, it would be hard to compare the event to last years (in which Jamiroquai headlined), but the popular beats got everyone dancing all the same.

But let’s face it – it was all about the location. The party was held against a beautiful harbour backdrop, at a $20 million Point Piper mansion, while the music was performed above the pool. And with some cocktails thanks to Russian Standard Vodka, that didn’t hurt proceedings either. Nor did the giant Connect Four, Checkers and Jenga sets, which plenty took advantage of during the day.

The guests, that included Pip Edwards, Kirrily Johnston, Laura Csortan, Nikki Phillips and Shannon Noll (and everyone else who wasn’t at Stereosonic), partied well into the night at an afterparty at Piano Bar in Kings Cross. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday if I do say so myself.

As for the music, ARIA nominee Havana Brown performed her hit singles “We Run The Night” and “Get It”, while Sneaky Sound System played their own hits including latest “We Love”, “I Love It”, “Pictures” and “UFO” which closed out the night.

Filmed for TV and online, you can watch the performances at take40.com and via GO! on Sunday 11th December at 2pm, Channel 9 on Wednesday 14th December at 12.30am and MTV on Friday 16th December at 8.30pm, with MTV airing repeats from the 17th to 20th December.

Below we have some photos from the performances and the media wall!
