Norway’s girl in red is currently in Australia for the latest leg of her DOING IT AGAIN tour, celebrating the release of her second album, I’M DOING IT AGAIN BABY!. We caught them last night at the Melbourne leg, at Margaret Court Arena.
As with her last visit to Australia, the fans were there early to get their prime positions. Her performance was again incredibly high energy. Marie (Ulven – girl in red) was warm and engaging, chatting between songs and giving context to them. Her songs cover themes which include her personal stories of love, lust and struggles with mental health. By sharing these stories in her songs, she is able to give courage to many others to do the same, especially within the queer community.
The opening act was Telenova, who are always fabulous to see. It was a massive bonus having them on the bill. If only more overseas artists had Australian supports.
