RISING Festival this year, as much as any other year, is well known for its headline acts. The winter festival takes place in the heart of Melbourne city for only two weeks and never fails to deliver a stellar selection of music and arts programming. Good Morning reunited for a special hometown show this time around, with a ten-piece band accompanying the fronting duo of Liam Parsons and Stefan Blair.
The band rarely plays on home turf anymore due to relocating to various cities overseas, but their fan base is stronger than ever. Celebrating the success of their latest record, Good Morning Seven, the almost two-hour set at Melbourne Recital Centre was something very special. Highlights included “Dog Years” and crowd favoruite “Country.” Cool Sounds warmed up the crowd well with their bashful, jangly energy.
