The Spring Loaded festival is currently touring the country, and came to Royal Randwick in Sydney yesterday.
Setup on the lawn at Randwick Racecourse, it was a comfortable and inviting setup to see some of the favourite bands of the last decade or two. It was good vibes all round. The crowd might be a little older than some of the other festivals, which meant the bar queues were longer, but they were well behaved and stoked to be able to see live music again. For many of them, this was the first festival in a long time no doubt.
The bands were in fine form. Humour was the order of the day, reflecting on their relative advanced years, and the joy of playing again to a decent crowd. So many highlights along the way from Caligula which kicked off proceedings to Grinspoon who closed the night.
