The UK’s The Last Dinner Party wrapped up their Australian tour last night at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion. Originally scheduled to play at The Enmore Theatre, it sold out in seemingly nanoseconds and was relocated to the larger Hordern Pavilion, which also quickly sold out. It was the hottest ticket in town this week. The fans were there early – queuing from 7am to get a prized position at the front. It’s fair to say that expectations were high.
And were they met? Absolutely. It was a homecoming for bassist Georgia Davies, who hails from Sydney’s Northern Beaches (yay!). Cutely, the band acknowledged this with a banner for Georgia above the stage. It was a triumphant performance. There were tears and much joy shed, and that’s just from the band.
They were fabulously supported by Tia Gostelow, an artist whom we have closely followed and admired at the AU from her early years.
Bruce was there to capture the action.
