Rüfüs du Sol

Despite threatening thunderstorms in the morning, it all heated up for Wildlands Festival in Adelaide on Sunday afternoon. Set in the parklands near the Adelaide High School, it was an easy venue for the predominantly young crowd to access. A large tent in the centre of the grounds provided shade, with the single main stage at one end. The dance stage was tucked away near the entrance and drew ardent supporters during the afternoon.

Becca Hatch was an early act, but still managed to draw a decent crowd. Ferg was up next and he told us that he was not looking forward to heading home to cold London. He fired up the audience, getting them to create a massive mosh pit in the centre of the crowd. He was clearly enjoying himself.

What can you say about G Flip that hasn’t been said before. They are another act that really enjoys what they are doing and that enthusiasm is infectious. In fact all the acts on the bill today were nothing short of enthusiastic. The Jungle Giants had the audience singing along. Roving performers added a sense of circus fun to the proceedings and everyone was was in a bright and cheerful mood.

Peggy Gou kept the mood light with her dance tunes followed by London rapper Central Cee. This guy is certainly making waves, for such a young performer. He was literally playing with fire onstage and I’m sure that we will hear much more of him to come.

Rounding out the day’s entertainment were Australian overseas success story Rüfüs du Sol. With their incredible light show, the trio provided a set of classic hits such as “Innerbloom” and “You Were Right”. A beautiful way to end a fun day.
