The warm weather hung around for the second day of WOMADelaide, nestled within the Adelaide Parklands. As the bats had their own dance party over stage 7, on the main stages the music was primed to make you move. Goran Bregović & His Wedding & Funeral Band bought Balkan joy to the stage. Dressed in oversized red ballgown and shocking blonde wig, Ngaiire stunned us all with her visually stunning project, PAIA. Musical duo O. from London bought their raucous sax and drum beats to a whole new legion of fans.
Near stage 3, the French Yoann Bourgeois Art Company performed “The Unreachable Suspension Point” with explorations of weightlessness, while spiralling through life and space.
Closing on stage 2, Róisín Murphy (ex Moloko lead singer) stunned us all with her incredible fashion display of oversized and undercut wardrobe, with a veritable orchestra of backing musicians and high energy music. What a way to end an evening of amazing music. We’ve assembled a few photos from the day in the gallery below.
