WA group POW! Negro went off grid after whipping up a great deal of acclaim and hype surrounding their hectic live shows and impactful music, causing a bit of confusion and more interest, if we’re honest. Now though, it’s all made sense – they’ve re-emerged with a new name, refreshed approach and a kicking new single to properly mark their return.
“Over the past two and a half years as POW!, we’ve learnt and subsequently grown more than we ever thought we could have.” the band has said in a statement. “It has taken us a long time to recognise what we really wanted to be and stand for as a group, and we’re still learning. The next steps for the group will be as SUPEREGO. As a culturally and musically diverse group, we wanted a name that was representative and reflective of everyone and feel this new identity encapsulates us as a whole.”
Fans will be able to catch the band on the road for a little bout of shows next month; tickets are on sale now!
