One in Sydney. One in Melbourne.
L.A legend Ice Cube is no stranger to performing in Australia. He was just here two years ago with Cypress Hill, although he hadn’t been touring much before that.
Anyone who saw Cube at those concerts would be surprised to hear he’s coming back so soon, and with a brand new album, Man Down, to showcase with hit singles “My Ego” and “So Sensitive.”
The man responsible for not just N.W.A. but an entire paradigm shift in music will be performing at Sydney’s ICC Theatre on March 7, after which he’ll head down to Melbourne for a show at Sidney Myer Music Bowl on March 9.
The cultural icon, rapper, actor and incendiary social commentator needs no introduction. As hip-hop royalty, Cube has put out some of the most important albums in history and twisted hip-hop to be more politically focused and brutally honest. Much like the artist points out in “My Ego,” he was Kendrick before Kendrick.
These types of tours are the ones worth seeing. Cube is known for paying close attention to his back catalogue and putting on a crowd-pleasing show. After all, he was only the second ever rapper (Kanye was the first) chosen to perform at the illustrious Sydney Opera House and is well-regarded as one of the most endearing figures in rap music.
