Sending out big congratulations to artist manager and Native Tongue Creative Co-ordinator Sabrina Robertson, who has been named this year’s recipient of The Lighthouse Award. The APRA AMCOS initiative supports female managers in Victoria by way of a $5,000 grant to go towards professional development; Robertson now joins the likes of Jen Cloher, Charlotte Abroms and Bonnie Dalton as recognised names in their field for the award, established in memory of Linda Gebar.
“Linda Gebar was a manager that worked hard, built connections and community. The AAM is thrilled to again support this award in her memory.” Executive Director of the Association of Australian Managers (AAM), Leanne de Souza has said. “The opportunities for emerging managers to receive cash support are super rare. Congratulations to Sabrina Robertson, a talented and hardworking young manager who is passionate about building meaningful connections and community.”
“It is an honour to be associated with Linda Gebar’s legacy, and to follow in the footsteps of all the amazing past recipients,” Robertson has said. “Managers who have and continue to inspire me. It’s an incredible feeling to have my management work acknowledged this way, and I’m very grateful to the team at APRA AMCOS.”
Currently in the UK with Alexander Biggs, who has made an impressive mark on the UK during his debut visit for The Great Escape, Robertson has embarked on an exciting chapter of her management career. Her management and publicity company – Maths & Magic – has been making strides, all the while, Robertson has been holding down her Native Tongue role with great skill.
