Single of the Day: BØRNS “I Don’t Want U Back” (2017)

When Michigan born singer songwriter BØRNS released his first album, Dopamine, it was obvious that he was one to watch. The debut was met with critical acclaim, reaching international fame with tracks “10,000 Pools” and “Electric Love”. The topic on everyone’s lips was his sweet falsetto voice, which at first listen may be mistaken for a woman. These famously yearning vocals are showcased perfectly in the new single “I Don’t Want U Back”.

Taken from his upcoming sophomore album Blue Madonna, the new single is a totally danceable pop track of love and lies. Here BØRNS details a break up for the better, an end of a toxic relationship. But there’s little sadness here, more a triumphant “screw you” to an ex.
