A bluesy, smoky ballad, the tune has Avery and Alexandra Savoir going toe to toe in a piano/percussion-backed dance that is most definitely sway-inducing.

So goes the conversation between the two characters in this narrative who are clearly not at a comfortable stage with seeing each other with another partner. “We’re Just Making it Worse” has a classic, vintage sound about it; Avery’s vocals are undeniably arresting, while Savoir holds her own in delivering a sexy, feminine equivalent. Avery has always been a talent we’ve loved watching perform, whether it’s been on bass with Tame Impala, fronting The Growl or drumming with Pond, so now that we’ve been given this tasty little insight into what to expect from him as a solo artist…we can wait to see what 2016 brings.
