It feels like it’s been a long time coming but finally, fans will be able to get their hands on the debut DMA’s album Hills End, next month! It’s another step forward for the band who, through 2015, have been firmly establishing themselves as international favourites as well as Australian legends, with sets at Bonnaroo, Governor’s Ball and Lollapalooza going down incredibly well.
This week, the boys released their new single in “Too Soon”, another tune that’s guaranteed to build hype for Hills End. The single, like other previous DMA’s releases, is dripping with that classic Brit-pop style vocal and once again showcases the trio’s great handle on indie pop melodies and choruses. Written by all members of the band, “Too Soon” marks a shift from how DMA’s generally will put material together. Says Johnny Took of the song: “Usually one of us will have an idea for a song, and we’ll flesh it out together, but for “Too Soon”, we each had a separate melody, which fit together effortlessly.”
