Single of the Day: OKENYO “Woman’s World” (2017)

OKENYO is an artist I’ve been championing for a long time now and over the last year or two especially, the Sydney based performer has been generating some new heat and momentum surrounding the new music she’s been creating.

Things are kicking off for OKENYO once more with the brand new single, “Woman’s World”, landing a lucrative premiere on Beats 1 early overnight in the US (early this morning, Australian time) and today, earning many many replays on my end since I got myself a cheeky link.

“Woman’s World” shines with confidence, slyly winks in the face of internet trolls and men suffering from general short man syndrome and those aggressive insecurities that are quite frankly hilarious – though ever present – in today’s climate.

“You can call me Feminazi, go ahead and call me nasty,” she sings over a beat that will be in your head in no time. Here, OKENYO is pulling punches and following through with a landing that sticks. Celebrating the strong female influence in a personal and professional environment, “Woman’s World” stands strong.

Keep up to date with OKENYO here!
