Music festival Someday Soon! has announced its return to The University of Sydney’s Manning House! Taking place on Saturday October 21, you’re gonna want to make space on your calendars for this one, with Australia’s beloved pop-princess Peach PRC and dance legend So What Not taking on headline duties.
Peach PRC is renowned for her infectious bubble gum pop that explores all matters of the heart. First rocketing to fame through her TikTok success, Peach PRC has become one of Australia’s hottest pop exports.
Meanwhile, So What Not is a staple in the fabric of the Australian dance music scene. The producer/DJ has led to him accumulating over one billion streams and seen him collaborate with global powerhouses such as Skrillex, Daniel Johns, Dillon Francis and DMAs. Boasting remixes for RUFUS DU SOL and Run The Jewels, So What Not’s discography speaks for itself.
Joining them is an all-star line-up, featuring hip-hop group 1300, Melbourne’s Cassettes for Kids, indie band Daily J, DJ Kornél Kovács and dance project Lazywax.
Other announced acts include Northeast Party House, Royal Otis, Sam Alfred, Sly Withers, Surprise Chef, Sycco, Tangela, Tyne-James Organ, Willo and Y.B.
Someday Soon first joined the festival circuit in 2022 and has committed to showcasing the biggest and brightest established stars and up-and-comers that Australia has to offer. This nine-hour extravaganza is being held at Manning Bar, a venue owned and operated by Australia’s oldest and largest student union, the not-for-profit USU.
USU Board President, Nazanin Sharifi, says:
“Someday Soon is not your regular day at uni, it’s an exhilarating extravaganza of talent and creativity! Friends get to hang out enjoy music, bars, food, and fun all day right here outside our historic Manning Bar. With one ticket, you get to see an array of amazing artists, from the latest emerging superstars to the next big thing. And who knows, you might end up discovering your favourite new artist!”
Curated by Astral People, the festival gives space for not only newer acts to shine but also allow people to discover new music in a landscape that is sorely needing attention from our local music fans. Amongst the diverse range of music, there will also be a host of multi-level bars and food trucks.
