Australia & New Zealand are set to experience the smooth soulful flavour of South Africa in September and October of 2012 as singer, songwriter, producer and chart topping artist Garth Taylor is headed our way to perform a series of intimate shows across the country in his very first Trans-Tasman tour.
Garth made his debut into the South African music scene in 1998 and has since
delighted fans with a number of hit songs, including “Why”, which remained at number one on the charts for five consecutive weeks. “Only With You” which was at number one on Cape Town charts for six consecutive weeks and “If I Gave You My Soul”, “Home Again”, “Tonight” and his version of the song, “Islands In The Stream”.
His last album “Stripped Down Soul’d Out” has received acclamation from the South African music industry and is still receiving significant airtime on all leading radio and television stations across the country.
Garth is ecstatic to be heading down under to perform and says, “The Garth Taylor band show, ”Under The Influence”, is all about the musical journey that I have taken as a songwriter, it will be an interesting combination of original songs that I wrote at a particular time, and then a cover song or two that influenced my song writing at that time”.
Garth will be supported by some fabulous local talent including, Jo Elms in Sydney, Dynasti in Melbourne, Andrea Lisa on the Gold Coast and STKS in Auckland.
