Record Store Day brought with it a myriad of new music – but not all of it was available on vinyl. In advance of the day, Brit-pop icons Blur released another sneak peak from their upcoming record The Magic Whip in the form of the track “My Terracotta Heart”, while they teased fans with listening parties for the record around Los Angeles on Record Store Day itself. Via a travelling ice cream van, no less.
First up listen to the track below. The track is taken off Blur‘s new album The Magic Whip, which is being released on April 27th. It will be their first release since the iconic Think Tank in 2003 – and the first time guitarist Graham Coxon will have been featured since their 1999 record 13.
Here’s a look at where the ice cream van went on Saturday, giving people not only a chance to be the first in the world to hear the album, but they were actually giving out ice cream too. And those that had pre-ordered the record were given a special disc featuring the track “Lonesome Street”!
