We had the privilege of interviewing Steve Aoki on the ARIA red carpet not long ago. He shared his work ethic, his love of food and talked about some exciting new projects with us.
Aoki admitted that he was performing 250 to 220 shows a year. “It’s a lot of shows,” he said. When asked how he kept up with it all, he said, “It’s discipline and having good habits; having that state of mind that you’re ready for it. If you go out there like it’s a vacation it’s not gonna work. This is what I do, this is my lifestyle. I have to accept that.”
Aoki spoke of his love of food, saying that “I actually have a couple of restaurants with an Australian. Two in in LA, one in New York. No meat pies,” he laughed. “I think there’s, like, some spices in the way you guys flavour some of your food.”
