What music or artists inspired you?
As a songwriter I am personally drawn to the words and the melody but we all pull from different influences so anything from the Romantic period to Led Zeppelin to Miles Davis to Nick Drake. We are all over the place with influences.
How did the band get started?
Most of us met while attending Kent State University and through the local music scene in Northeast Ohio. It really was a natural process for us. It started as this fun thing to do on the streets playing for change and turned into something that changed our lives.
How would you best describe your live show:
the combustion of classically orchestrated sound with emotive songwriting
What shows do you have coming up?
We are performing at the Cleveland July 4th festivities, and then we’ll be heading out on tour. We should be on the road most of the year, all the dates can be found on our website!
Keep an eye on Facebook for more dates.
Tell us about your latest release:
The album is titled Soil to the Seed we recorded it in an A-frame cabin in Northwest Pennsylvania. Its more vocal melody driven than our past albums and there are many subtle layers of sound that make up the composition which allows the listener to hear something different the second or third time through listening. We are very happy with how it came out and can’t wait for more people to hear it.
Where can I get your music?
the interwebs! Specifically, thespeedbumps.com, Bandcamp, iTunes
