What music or artists inspired you?
Between the three of us it´s, a whole lot of different music that has inspired us as musicians. I can tell you a little bit about what inspired or meant something to me as a songwriter and that stretches everywhere from Nirvana to Gillian Welch.
I started out in some kind of chronological order but it deteriorates after a while and get´s all mixed up..
Nirvana, Red House Painters, Leonard Cohen, Sonic Youth, Yo La Tengo, Neil Young, Nick Drake, dEUS, Bonnie Prince Billy/ /Palace Music, Joni Mitchell, Radar Bros, Modest Mouse, Townes Van Zandt, Guided By Voices, The Magnetic Fields, Galaxie 500, Bill Callahan//Smog, Woods, Gillian Welch, So on… and so forth… 🙂
And I just bought a “White Magic” cassette that i really like!
How did the band get started?
We have all played music for a while in Stockholm in a bunch of different bands and constellations, but there´s really no mystery to it. I guess I met up with Jacob at some point and we decided to try playing some of my songs together, he brought in Christopher knowing him as a fantastic drummer. And we just kind of clicked in the most cliché sense of the word.
How would you best describe your live show:
Ever changing. We have very difficult scheduals. Expect body doubles.
What shows do you have coming up?
We are doing a short east coast tour in the US in September, then we go back there for some more touring in October. In between we have a couple of dates here and there in Europe. Berlin, Vienna, Paris and London as it seems right now. We´ll of course be updating our social media as more shows get nailed down, so find us there!
Keep an eye on Facebook for more dates.
Tell us about your latest release:
It´s our debut full length so it´s pretty special. Took us a while to get done between all of us having kids along the way. We recorded most of it in our cabin/studio in Stockholm. It´s called From Far Enough Away Everything Sounds Like The Ocean, which is of course a way too long title that I stole from somewhere in a book called “The Boat” by Australian author Nam Le. It popped out at me when i read it a couple years ago, i wrote it down and kept it for a rainy day. This Record was that rainy day i guess. I have no recollection at all about what it meant in the context of his book. it´s become my own over the years. To me It´s a very poetic way of saying -who cares. Which is sometimes very liberating. And to me releasing this record is a very liberating thing.
