While at SXSW earlier this month I had the pleasure of not only talking to Dave Grohl (briefly, mind you) about his film Sound City, but also the co-producers of the film, Jim Rota and John Ramsay of Therapy Studios. We talk about how they got involved in the project, how Dave worked as a director, how Dave’s Mum helped with the storyline, inspiring performance in music, cutting down 1,600 hours of footage and they answer the question we’re all wondering: will Dave return to the Director’s chair in the future?
